Preflight FLIGHT PLAN MODELLING FOR DASSAULT AVIATION
During an exchange with Dassault Aviation operators, our Aix teams discerned a need for the management of test and liaison flights on the Istres base. Our client wanted to update and modernise its tools, with the aim of simplifying and clarifying management, but also reducing the flight entry time. Dassault Aviations has entrusted the digitalization process of their flight planning tools to Apside.

The team asked them to create an application, which can be used on a giant touchscreen tablet, in the form of a timeline on which a flight can be added, edited, moved or deleted with the fingertips. It’s the Aix-en-Provence branch – specifically Christophe B’s team,composed of Jessica, Djallal, Joël and Ayyoub – who brought this innovative and ambitious project to life.

To develop the Prevol project, our team relied on detailed mock-ups provided by the client.Using these different elements, they developed the application around the following three main environments:
- “Flight entry” environment
- Supervision modelled in the form of a timeline
- Data administration.
These three components were developed mainly thanks to the expertise on the Java and Angular technologies.What makes the UX/UI challenging is the optimisation of the data coupled with the suitability of the supervision.

In response to the need identified in the client’s activities, and in order to establish the project, the team started with a specification phase to list the client’s expectations in detail. They then worked on the design and architecture of the app, before tackling the mock-up part.In order to create the mock-ups, they adopted an “agile approach” using a collaborative platform dedicated to making prototypes. Once the mock-ups were completed, they were able to develop the HMI –Human Machine Interface.
